As it appears, there is a package gnome-keyring which seems to offer the
daemon. There seems to be some confusion about the two packages, the
descriptive text is completely identical, this needs fixing.
"gnome-keyring-manager - GNOME Keyring Password Manager
GNOME Keyring Manager is a program that keeps passwords and other secrets for
users. It runs as a daemon in the session, similar to ssh-agent, and other
applications can locate it by an environment variable."

Starting gnome-keyring-daemon
yields:
GNOME_KEYRING_SOCKET=/tmp/keyring-IS1BRV/socket
SSH_AUTH_SOCK=/tmp/keyring-IS1BRV/ssh
GNOME_KEYRING_PID=7051
ps -A | grep keyring yields:
4294 ? 00:00:00 gnome-keyring-d
7051 pts/0 00:00:00 gnome-keyring-d
gnome-keyring-manager still complains about service not running.
