https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=351138 Summary: Yast2 partitioner deletes partition table on firewire disk Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: duwe@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Development Created an attachment (id=189028) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=189028) yast 2 logfile from calling yast2, launching and quitting the partitioner. It proved sufficient to attach a firewire disk with a DOS/BIOS partition table to a 10.3 system and simply call the partitioner, acknowledge the expert warning and then immediately quit the partitioner, to erase the partition table (!) Independently of whether the disk contained partitions or not, yast2 partitioner, even when quit immediately, makes sure there are none, by writing junk into the first block. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
