https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=349554 Summary: file permissions on cifs mounting a win-xp-pro share Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: SLES 10 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: ehrenfeuchter@phoenix-pacs.de QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: ehrenfeuchter@phoenix-pacs.de Found By: --- When mounting a share provided by Windows XP Pro using the CIFS VFS, permissions are not displayed correctly on the Linux-side. In fact, just after mounting it, 'ls -l' shows '-rwxrwSrwt' for all files. Modifying the permissions using chmod works correctly until the share is unmounted. Remounting it resets all permissions to the above values. Changing the contents of files, creating and deleting files works without problems, except those described above.
