https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=349061 Summary: No link to instlux in startup documentation Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Documentation AssignedTo: ke@novell.com ReportedBy: ed-dori-robinov@att.net QAContact: ke@novell.com Found By: Customer I was reviewing the startup documentation which I used to install. I have a non bootable USB hard drive. This is not recognized by Grub when Grub is in the MBR. Thus error 21 arose. Now you already have the solution. The solution is buried in the "Novell" documentation. The solution is to use instlux in Windows. This should be a mandatory part of any installation documentation and not limited to one place. Also the fact that Grub should not be put in the MBR if the USB cannot be set to boot in the BIOS is very critical. I hope that this information is corrected in the next installation release also. If I was warned during installation of this problem and shown the proper measures to take I would have taken the necessary measures. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
