https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=346852 Summary: e1000 has about 190k receiving speed in all full duplex modes, sending is ok (dito openSuSE10.3) Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: openSUSE 10.2 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: storz@mpia.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer e1000 on Intel VERNONIA-Board (2 onboard intelPRO/1000 - 80003ES2LAN controller), - starts connections only very slow and - reads about 190k Byte per second in all FULL Duplex modes and get very soon slower until it stalls completely. - but sends data with full speed 112 MByte/sec. - driver updated to e1000-7.6.9 did not help. Used openSuSE10.2 and openSuSE10.3 in 64bit. Because 1000Mbit mode cannot be set to Half-Duplex, and AutoNegotiations stays on, the 1000Mbit connection does not work. The problem seems to be related to the auto-negotiation usage, which can be switched off by setting the speed and duplex type, but not for 1000 MBit! I saw anywhere in the net a note (from Linux Torwald ?) about a problem with some Intel e1000-cards about problems when register polling is done and autonegotiation is on. That's why I tried to switch the autonegotiation off. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
