https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=345453 Summary: KNetworkmanager: wep key must be retyped again and again and again Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: michael.dreher@gmx.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer I have a thinkpad r50p notebook (32 bit) with opensuse 10.2. The distance to the WLAN accesspoint is 3.50 meters, no concrete in between. I am using channel 9 (as the only person in this building). So, the physical conditions should be quite good. For unknown reasons, from time to time (after about 20 minutes), the WLAN connection breaks down, and the KNetworkmanager is not able to re-establish it. Then the dialog box appears, and I am asked to type in the 128 bit WEP key. I type it in, and after about 10 seconds the connection is established again. Then I am happy for about 20 minutes, and it breaks down again. And again the KNetworkmanager dialog pops up and asks for the WEP key. I type it in, and after about 10 seconds the connection is established again. And then, after some time .... (you guess how it continues). Just this afternoon, I had to type the WEP key 6 times. Why do I have to re-type the WEP key again and again and again ? Can't you store it somewhere, in a file ? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
