Does this still occur with 10.3? Yes, it does, with both stock compiz version, and version 0.6.2 from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/XGL/openSUSE_10.3/
Please note that the problem exists when running compiz not only under Xgl, but also under Aiglx and native Nvidia's driver support.
