It is inside the libtool. libtool starts sed to get some information from
the .la file. There are quite some other libs involved indeed. I haven't
checked if any of those need or require libgcrypt as well, but I would
assume so.
However, it does not make sense IMHO the remove those files if others may rely
or use them.
The Packaging/Shared Library Packaging Policy in openSUSE (best practices):
- Avoid packaging libtool config files (.la files). In general they are not
needed if you do not package a static library. If in doubt, ask.
If I understand this correctly you should package the .la because the -devel
package contains the static libgcrypt.a and library.so. Or do I misinterpret
the hint in best pratices?
