Sorry for priorities - priority "none" seemed to not fit to the problem because
this bug actually is a show stopper.
to c#32:
The problem is that we have random segfaults at startup (and if the system
survives startup, we have random segfaults in the running system). These
segfaults happen relatively reproducable in SMP mode. After a maximum of some
hours the system is totally unusable because of failed services.
When starting the same system with kernel option "nosmp" I can run it at least
for several days without real problems. In this case spontanious segfaults
happen once in two days or so - at least segfaults I notice. Usually the base
system is unaffected by these. So at least on my system I can have a kind of
limited service when running "nosmp". This can't be the final solution but I
can survive for some weeks :)
