Ok I went and removed ndiswrapper and it worked. I then went into network
config in yast and instead of just loading ndiswrapper as the driver for the
card I also added a wireless card called wlan0. It was necessary to use the
ndiswrapper to load the driver to both the detected wireless card eth1 which
had loaded bcmxx43 which did not work and the added wlan0 card. This took some
time to play around with until I stumbled upon the combination which worked.
Thanks. BTW how did you know it was the ndiswrapper and why does it work when
I added a wlan0 card?
