https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=340187 Summary: scanner with advansys SCSI kernel module not recognized by HAL Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: i386 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Hotplug AssignedTo: dkukawka@novell.com ReportedBy: jsmeix@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Development I have a Microtek ScanMaker X12USL SCSI scanner. Its SCSI host adapter uses the advansys kernel module. Scanning works well as root. All what is missing is that HAL recognizes it so that the udev/HAL/hal-resmgr machinery could grant access permissions for normal users. I started hald as hald --daemon=yes --verbose=yes --use-syslog I run udevmonitor --env I did rmmod advansys and then modprobe advansys Currently it is accessible via /dev/sg3 but there is nothing in "lshal" regarding "/sg3". -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
