Sorry if you got the wrong impression. We're indeed working on an updated
installation image (probably the mini-iso only) but I cannot promise when that
happens since that's for a collection of bugs. I set the status to RESOLVED
because the fix is in our kernel tree, that's all I can do for now.
However, it's indeed possible to install openSUSE 10.3 on that laptop. Because
the BIOS supports PXE boot (which is quite good for a Laptop!), you can do a
network installation. For the kernel use
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/projects/kernel/kotd/SL103_BRANCH/x86_64/kernel-default.rpm.
See
http://de.opensuse.org/SDB:Netzwerkinstallation_von_openSUSE_10.2_über_PXE-Boot
(German) and
http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Network_Installation_of_SuSE_Linux_via_PXE_Boot
(English). You need another computer running Linux for this. (Well, in theory
you can use any operating system, but it may be more complicated, especially on
Windows.)
