https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=334537 Summary: /etc/syslog-ng/syslog-ng.conf Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: 32bit OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: david.shorthouse@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer I have come across a bug in the syslog-ng.conf I am using Opensuse10.3 from a fresh install the syslog-ng.conf file has these details # # acpid messages # filter f_acpid_full { match('^\acpid:'); }; filter f_acpid { level(emerg...notice) and match('^\acpid:'); }; # this is for the old acpid < 1.0.6 filter f_acpid_old { match('^\[acpid\]:'); }; I installed webmin and was unable to use the syslog-ng module. They gave me a fix for this to edit the syslog-ng.conf # # acpid messages # filter f_acpid_full { match('^\acpid:'); }; filter f_acpid { level(emerg..notice) and match('^\acpid:'); }; # this is for the old acpid < 1.0.6 filter f_acpid_old { match('^\[acpid\]:'); }; I asked the question if that is the same on the http://www.suseforums.net/index.php?showtopic=40412 forum and they have informed me this could be a bug as according to man syslog-ng.conf, a priority range is expressed with two dots, not three. If you need any further details please let me know..
