C3 already saves a lot power..., your machine probably does not support C4.
Anyway, it seems as if the hardware expects some action on the irq or it keeps
firing? Does this stop at some time?
This looks more like a workaround, but the root cause of the unhandled
interrupt is not found yet. But I don't know enough about this, it could be the
right thing to do, no idea. Better ask on lkml or other list... If this is a
safe and reasonable fix can you also add a similar one to SLES10-SP1 after
asking on kernel list, pls.
