https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=331675 Summary: VirtualBox fails to load VBoxREM2.rel Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Blocker Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: peterke@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- After successfully creating a new virtual machine with virtual box, during startup it simply aborts. Looking at the log files, it finishes with: 00:00:00.580 REM: failed loading '/usr/lib64/virtualbox/VBoxREM2.rel', rc=c I checked the specific file, and it IS there where the path points to, and it is accessible by the current user. (read and execute permission). After Google-ing around a bit I found that this issue was reported on the VirtualBox forums, and is present in the openSUSE 10.3 line since at least the RC2. One working solution mentioned there was to replace the above mentioned file with one from the official VirtualBox package. So my two cents is that the above file got packaged in a corrupt state and a simple repacking would solve the issue. This is the VirtualBox package included in the original distro files. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
