https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=331668 Summary: nfs install failed Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: richard.bos@xs4all.nl QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Beta-Customer I tried to perform an NFS openSUSE-10.3 installation, but this was not possible, because the installation program responded that the source was correct. Something about a checksum, not being correct... Hmm, I don't remember the precise error message. To create the openSUSE-10.3 NFS repository I copied the 3 disks iso/openSUSE-10.3> ls openSUSE-10.3-GM-Addon-Lang-i386.iso openSUSE-10.3-GM-Addon-NonOss-BiArch.iso openSUSE-10.3-GM-KDE-i386.iso to a directory. I did that with the following script: ISO_DIR=/home/dist/iso DEST_DIR=/home/dist/suse103 for ISO in openSUSE-10.3-GM-Addon-Lang-i386.iso openSUSE-10.3-GM-Addon-NonOss-BiArch.iso openSUSE-10.3-GM-KDE-i386.iso; do echo $ISO mount -o loop $ISO_DIR/$ISO /mnt cp -a /mnt/* $DEST_DIR chmod -R u+w $DEST_DIR umount /mnt done I used this script (or very very similar) to create an NFS repository for earlier releases. What I did: - after inserting the boot disk, told the installation program to perform an NFS based install - the installation program asked for the NFS server and directory - program continued, but complained it could not reach the server, it than fall back into ncurses yast. - in the ncurses yast I configured the nfs server and directory and continued - just after that the installer complained about an incorrect repository (or something like that).... I had to stop and continued with a CD-rom based installation, which went fine. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
