Ok, then _at least_ change the text in the splash screen to give the user a
clue to what's going on. Are we starting or are we shuuting down. A good
example is a reboot, which is a shutdown followed by a startup. Both splashes
look exactly the same. So I initate a reboot and go for a cup of coffee. When I
come back, I see this splash screen, but I really don't know what's happening.
Is it still shutting down? Is it starting up? Don't have a clue! So, the
startup splash should say "starting up" and the shutdown splash should say
"Shutting down".
