https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=326102 Summary: the hostname dialog proposes to update it by DHCP on a laptop Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: unspecified Platform: All OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: mzugec@novell.com ReportedBy: mvidner@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- inst_hostname.ycp has code to only update the hostname via DHCP if the machine is not a laptop. The reason is that when you plug in a graphical desktop session to a network and the hostname changes, the X authorization gets confused and applications cannot start (Well it used to be like that. I should verify) But the fix of bug 156830 (http://svn.opensuse.org/viewcvs/yast/trunk/network/src/services/dns.ycp?r1=37315&r2=37314&pathrev=37315 ) broke that. settings[DHCP_HOSTNAME] is ignored. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
