https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=326019 Summary: several panel applets fail to start in gnome / ia64 Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Beta 3 Platform: IA64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: erikj@sgi.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Third Party Developer/Partner Created an attachment (id=173093) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=173093) xsession-errors This was observed on SGI Prism using OpenSUSE 10.3 Beta3 _unofficial_ bits. When I tried to log in as myself using gnome, I got a window that stated: 'The panel encountered a problem while loading "OAFID:GNOME_MixerApplet"' Looking at the .xession-errors (attached) several other applets failed as well. Perhaps we're missing a dependency of some sort? Unfortunately, this makes it hard to use gnome on ia64 :( Snips from the xsession errors (attached): SESSION_MANAGER=local/hoot:/tmp/.ICE-unix/31829 Window manager warning: Failed to read saved session file /home/estes04/erikj/.metacity/sessions/default0.ms: Failed to open file '/home/estes04/erikj/.metacity/sessions/default0.ms': No such file or directory ** (gnome-panel:31966): WARNING **: panel-applet-frame.c:1270: failed to load applet OAFIID:GNOME_MainMenu: System exception: IDL:Bonobo/GeneralError:1.0 : Child process did not give an error message, unknown failure occurred ** (gnome-panel:31966): WARNING **: panel-applet-frame.c:1270: failed to load applet OAFIID:TomboyApplet: System exception: IDL:Bonobo/GeneralError:1.0 : Child process did not give an error message, unknown failure occurred Initializing gnome-mount extension Initializing nautilus-open-terminal extension Initializing nautilus-share extension seahorse nautilus module initialized ** (gnome-panel:31966): WARNING **: panel-applet-frame.c:1270: failed to load applet OAFIID:GNOME_MixerApplet: System exception: IDL:Bonobo/GeneralError:1.0 : Child process did not give an error message, unknown failure occurred ** Message: drive = 0 (snip) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
