https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=309382 Summary: Gnome openSUSE Updater: useless Details display Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Beta 3 Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: tilman@imap.cc QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Beta-Customer openSUSE Updater displays: New software for your system is available 0 mandatory updates are about to be installed [ ] include 1 additional updates [ ] Don't install updates that require a restart [Details] [Schließen] [Install] Clicking on "Details" opens a new window "Package Selector - YaST" which isn't helpful at all. It displays two columns, "Available Software" and "Installed Software", but no indication of where the available updates might be in there. In fact, the packages already installed are listed in *both* columns no matter if they are up to date or not. So there is no means to find out which updates there actually are, short of comparing these very long lists, which do not even scroll in unison, manually item by item looking for differing version numbers. Sure, details there are, and more than I bargained for. But usable - not. What I am looking for behind a "Details" button at this point is finding out which updates there are before deciding to actually install them. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
