While I was not able to solve the problem with the DVD Vbox rpms, even with
farkling aroung with chown, chmod & others, I did get VirtualBox x86-64 to work
using the following procedure/workaround:
Uninstall all the Vbox rpms; go to /home/yourname and delete the hidden folder
virtualbox
go to http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads and download "All distributions
version AMD64"
install with:
in a terminal as root
cd totherightfolder
sh ./VirtualBox_1.5.0_Linux_amd64.run install
accept the EULA
success
go to Yast > Security & Users > User Management > edit username > Details > and
make sure vboxusers is ticked
Log out; log in
start the virtual machine; set up the virtual machine
install the guest OS
Worked for me:)
Must be a rpm problem...
