https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=309083 Summary: YaST2 Installing Printer Fails Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Printing AssignedTo: jsmeix@novell.com ReportedBy: crispin@novell.com QAContact: jsmeix@novell.com Found By: Development My printing is flaky. Sometimes deleting the printer and re-installing it works. This time, I deleted the printer and re-installed it, and in the middle of the printer install, YaST went out and downloaded a bunch of new software. I have no idea why, I specified the same hardware printer I do every thime, so I would think the packages for print filters would already be present. Once that was done, I tested the printer with the YaST "test printing" button, and got this: Error: An error occurred while communicating with the CUPS server while saving queue y2test. cups(File)DoRequest error: client-error-request-value-too-long Conjecture: some kind of printer driver or CUPS update is broken. I have attached my /var/log/YaST2/y2log -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
