Steps to Reproduce - - As root install and configure kdm yast -i kdebase3-kdm - Change the following setting in /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager from DISPLAYMANAGER="gdm" to DISPLAYMANAGER="kdm" - Run SuSEconfig - Reboot the System - Login to a gnome desktop - Attempt to shutdown the system or switch users.
