https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=307441 Summary: initrd: insmod forcedeth driver never returns Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Beta 2 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: t.abt@levigo.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Other I just tried installing 10.3b2 on a TYAN barebone with a S2912 mainboard using a NVIDIA NPF3600 chipset. During hardware detection it gets stuck after printing "loading forcedeth" and issuing a "ps" in console 9 shows that the process insmod hangs. Unfortunately the NIC is essential for NFS-install... Installation source is the openSUSE-10.3-Beta2-KDE-x86_64.iso and the kernel (linux, initrd) coming with it. (With 10.2 there was no problem getting over the hardware detection, with network working ok, but 10.2 does not recognize the 3ware 9650SE SATA-controller, therefore also unusable for me.) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
