Actually the CDs *do* contain the Khmer fonts. I just checked the
instsys, the Khmer font is there.
And also truetype fonts for Indian languages, for Arabic, and even
Korean.
Only truetype fonts for Japanese and Chinese are not there because
they are huge.
But even for Japanese we have a much better font in instsys than what
is later available in the installed system. In the instsys we have
b16.pcf.gz (= “Efont Biwidth:pixelsize=16”) and in the installed
system we have 12x13ja.pcf.gz (one of the “Misc Fixed”)
fonts. b16.pcf.gz is far superior to 12x13ja.pcf.gz for Japanese.
It is a pity that we “throw away” good fonts which are already there
on the CD instead of copying them into the installed system which
would be so easy.
