https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=306942#c25 Summary: NET-SNMP rpms should be moved to officially supported CDs Product: SUSE LINUX 10.0 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Development AssignedTo: pth@novell.com ReportedBy: kgividen@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: cjans@novell.com Found By: Novell Technical Services NTS Priority: 25 Following comment from BUG ID# 135267 - eDirectory SNMP is not compatible with SLES9 SP2 64-bit ------- Comment #25 From Fernandez Nesbeth 2006-10-11 23:19:34 MST [reply] ------- Private Sorry for not providing the details of defect regression. We need to install 32 bit net-snmp libraries separately. This rpm is available in SLES9 SP3 x86_64 bit version of CD's(I could not verify this). rpm is also available at http://kirk.provo.novell.com/dist/full/full-sles9-beta-x86_64/suse/x86_64/ne.... Details of this issue is available in Bug 142480. This will be documented in 873SP9 Readme as following : Section 3.4.7 Issue with 64 bit version of net- snmp ndssnmpsa requires 32- bit netsnmp libraries on 64- bit Linux you should install net- snmp- 32bit rpm on SLES 9 and 10 64 bit platform. This rpm is available on SLES install CDs. ------- Comment #26 From Rajkumar V It seems that Fernandez might have gotten a bit confused... he says that the "rpm is available on SLES install CDs", but the problem is the URL he is referencing while technically could be considered an install CD it contains a whole heap of additional applications that are not be default supported but NTS. The logical assumption when he says SLES install CDs is the normal base CDs for which the server will be fully supported. So going forward I was thinking that we need to put in a new bug for SLES9 SP4 and reference this old one and get net-snmp-32bit.rpm included in the shipping CDs for SLES 9 SP4. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
