https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=306694 Summary: policy for setting up crypto partitions and mounting inconsistent Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Beta 2 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: dkukawka@novell.com ReportedBy: lnussel@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: kasievers@novell.com Found By: --- Mounting of built in partitions is currently disallowed by to means: volume.ignore is set on all partitions and mouting requires the privilege 'hal-storage-mount-fixed' which is not granted by default. Setting up and tearing down luks volumes however is not affected by those measurements. Therefore one can set up a crypted partition but not mount it afterwards. Furthermore there is no check whether there's already an existing mapping under a different name. That can happen if the device is in /etc/crypt{,o}tab. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
