https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=305051 Summary: sax2 no dual-head config for ia64 system with 2 R420 / FireGL X3 cards Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Beta 2 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: SaX2 AssignedTo: ms@novell.com ReportedBy: erikj@sgi.com QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: edwardsg@sgi.com Found By: Third Party Developer/Partner Created an attachment (id=160128) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=160128) sax log file This was observed in opensuse 10.3 beta2 in the unofficial ia64 version. This was observed on SGI Prism. This appeared to work properly in SLES10 GA. When I tried to use sax2 to create a dual-head configuration, I did have the option to do it. However, the resulting xorg.conf showed that sax2 was trying to configure both monitor ports on one card and wasn't paying any attention to my 2nd card. My Prism has two FireGL X3 / R420 ATI cards. There is one 20in flat panel attached to each card. That means each card has only one DVI port in use. When I configured xorg.conf by hand to support both cards in xinerama, it worked ok.
