https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=304318 Summary: nfs mounts in fstab with "users" option work for root user only Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Beta 2 Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: fmfischer@gmx.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Beta-Customer An nfs mount in "fstab" on "susemifi" like this (the kind I am using since SuSE 9.0): linux:/home /mnt/lhome nfs noauto, users, suid, exec, dev 0 0 with corresponding "exports" at "linux" nfs server: /home/ *(rw,no_root_squash,sync) leads to: susemifi@oldie:~> mount /mnt/lhome mount: linux:/home failed, reason given by server: Permission denied There are six different linux systems in my LAN here. This behaviour is new since 10.3 Beta2 I am afraid. Firewall is off, IPv6 is off and I could not find a workaround for ordinary users. As superuser the "mount /mnt/lhome" works just fine. Strange side effect: susemifi@oldie:~> mount /dev/sda6 on / type ext3 (rw) proc on /proc type proc (rw) sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw) debugfs on /sys/kernel/debug type debugfs (rw) udev on /dev type tmpfs (rw) devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,mode=0620,gid=5) /dev/sda7 on /home type xfs (rw) /dev/sda5 on /media/ubuntu type xfs (rw) /dev/sda1 on /media/ubuntuboot type ext2 (rw) securityfs on /sys/kernel/security type securityfs (rw) /dev/sr0 on /media/SU103Bet.001 type iso9660 (ro,nosuid,nodev,uid=501) rpc_pipefs on /var/lib/nfs/rpc_pipefs type rpc_pipefs (rw) linux:/home on /mnt/lhome type nfs (rw,users,addr=192.168.178.23) susemifi@oldie:~> umount /mnt/lhome susemifi@oldie:~> mount /dev/sda6 on / type ext3 (rw) proc on /proc type proc (rw) sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw) debugfs on /sys/kernel/debug type debugfs (rw) udev on /dev type tmpfs (rw) devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,mode=0620,gid=5) /dev/sda7 on /home type xfs (rw) /dev/sda5 on /media/ubuntu type xfs (rw) /dev/sda1 on /media/ubuntuboot type ext2 (rw) securityfs on /sys/kernel/security type securityfs (rw) /dev/sr0 on /media/SU103Bet.001 type iso9660 (ro,nosuid,nodev,uid=501) rpc_pipefs on /var/lib/nfs/rpc_pipefs type rpc_pipefs (rw) linux:/home on /mnt/lhome type nfs (rw,users,addr=192.168.178.23) So user issued "umount" fails with no message -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
