--- Comment #3 from Johannes Meixner 2007-08-24 00:51:02 MST ---
It seems it works exactly as it should according to
what is described in bug #88286:
When I run on lavoisier such a script as proposed in bug #88286
it get "Letter" as a result which matches to the "en_US..." locale.
For "A4" the locale should be something like "en_GB...".
lavoisier:~ # cat getpaper
#! /bin/bash
/etc/sysconfig/language &> /dev/null
read h w r < <(LANG=$RC_LANG LC_ALL=$RC_LC_ALL LC_PAPER=$RC_LC_PAPER \
locale -k LC_PAPER)
case "$h" in
height=297) echo A4 ;;
height=279) echo Letter ;;
*) echo ;;
esac
lavoisier:~ # ./getpaper
Letter
lavoisier:~ # egrep -v '^#|^$' /etc/sysconfig/language
INPUT_METHOD=""
RC_LANG="en_US.UTF-8"
RC_LC_ALL=""
RC_LC_MESSAGES=""
RC_LC_CTYPE=""
RC_LC_COLLATE=""
RC_LC_TIME=""
RC_LC_NUMERIC=""
RC_LC_MONETARY=""
RC_LC_PAPER=""
ROOT_USES_LANG="ctype"
AUTO_DETECT_UTF8="no"
INSTALLED_LANGUAGES=""
Therefore the report seems to be INVALID.
Please reopen if I misunderstand the issue.
