https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=302279 Summary: Klamav badly handles big gziped/ziped files Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Beta 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: m.munnix@redcross.be QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- when scanning big compressed files, klamav lists these files as problematic and proposes to quarantaine them. for ex. : /var/adm/backup/rpmdb/Packages-20070819.gz is about 10 MB, gunziped 32 MB It is listed as Problem:Gzip.ExceededFileSize / status:loose explanation field when on this line with cursor is: Gzip.ExceededFileSize: Attempts to scan ... resulted in exceeding a limit you set in 'Archive Limits'. If I go to tab 'events', then click on 'Options' button I get the window named 'Configure' (Well, why not choose the same title for the button and the window ???) Here, the first page 'Archive Limits' has all values equal to 0. I would interpret this as 'no limit'. Anyway, I put 9999 MB in the field 'Maximum MB to extract' : this doesn't change anything. If I unzip the file beforehand in its location, there is no more problem, but that's no practicable.
