--- Comment #17 from Jonathon Robison 2007-08-16 07:02:38 MST ---
It's possible. Note that although he didn't mention it, in his attached
NetworkManager logs, there is the line:
SUP: sending command 'SET_NETWORK 0 ssid
6a6f68616e6e2d65696c6572732d7765675f3234'
which I assume is NOT his ssid.
So yes, the problems could be related. Remember that he is using a hidden but
unencrypted network. The rest of us are encrypted, either WEP or WPA. If that
makes any difference, since the failure seems to come at the ssid stage, not
the encryption stage.
I guess we should note here that when knetworkmanager fails at 28%, we know its
an essid issue. At 56%, it's an encryption issue (I think).
As part and parcel to this bug, perhaps NetworkManager should give better error
reports (i.e. "Failed to set ssid to XXXXXXX", "Failed encryption setup").
Don't forget, we have other issues too, regarding LEAP, but for new, I'll stick
with these and leave the LEAP for another day :-)
