https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=300891 Summary: After adding repositories prior to install, they are refreshed again during network configuration Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Beta 1 Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: novell@spinink.net QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Beta-Customer during 1 CD kde install, I choose to add installation sources prior to installation, this was successful and the non-oss and oss(factory repo) were added. After files were copied, root passwd set, hostname set, then the install moves on to network configuration. At this step, the installation screen says "configuring display manager" but was actually going through the same process seen when I initially added the oss and non-oss install sources. this took the same 15 minutes and displayed the same progress dialog box that adding the repos before the installation did. once this process was done, I was asked if I wanted to test the network connection, which seems silly given that it just spent 15 minutes parsing the factory repo meta data. After saying yes, test the network connection(success), it refreshed the factory repository(again?), however this time it only took about 10 seconds to do so. next, I was asked for product registration where it attempts to add the update repo. I said yes, it failed since this is b1 and the update repos are not active yet. After failing and telling me an update source could not be found, it AGAIN refreshed the factory repository, this time taking ~20-30s. If the source is added prior to installation, i don't think it should have done it again during the network configuration step. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
