https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=300685 Summary: System will not boot with my SSD Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Beta 1 Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mgress@tampabay.rr.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Customer It's fully functional with OpenSuse 10.2, which I currently run. I'm using a UDMA enabled Sandisk compactflash card as a hard drive.(Extreme IV) I tried using three different IDE drivers at boot time. the PATA_AMD driver will not work at all, the system just hangs while trying to load the driver. The AMD74xx driver will get beyond that point, but hangs while YAST is loading. I tried using a seriellel adapter to attach my ATA connection to my SATA, and the SIL3112 driver also hangs. My system specs are as follows: Nforce2 based motherboard(Abit(nf7-S) 512MB ram, K7 processor ATI firegl 8800 On all hardware components I use open source drivers. I have a boatload of additional information that I've posted over at phoronix if it helps out any. http://www.phoronix.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3424 Any more information you need I will gladly supply. This thing is so fast, even crippled. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
