And to clean the possibly dirty disk means aborting the whole installation. If we change the error response to the following options "Cancel" (????????) "abort" "retry" "Eject Disk" If "Eject Disk" is chosen the CD/DVD is unlocked and opened permitting the cleaning or wipe over of the surface and re-insert>close draw>click on re-try the odds are it will read successfully and you wont have to terminate the whole install procedure. We all know only too well the best kept disks probably wont have bad scratches on but very very frequently have dust, dirt or the occasional grubby finger prints. For those who had to terminate an installation because of a faulty disk read that can be corrected by cleaning the disk - we the get really dirty on the fact they cannot access the disk during installation to clean it. This should only be a few lines of code added to an existing error level and should be very very easy to implement.
