https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=278881 Summary: Bootloader entry -- kernel version missing Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 4plus Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: aosthof@novell.com ReportedBy: bwalle@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com After a fresh installation of Alpha 4 ("STABLE") and installing the latest KOTD, I get following bootloader (GRUB) labels: 0: openSUSE 10.3 - 2.6.22-rc2-git7-20070527162723 1: Failsafe -- openSUSE 10.3 - 2.6.22-rc2-git7-20070527162723 2: openSUSE 10.3 3: Floppy 4: Failsafe -- openSUSE 10.3 IMO it doesn't make sense to only use the kernel version in case of a later installed kernel. Each released product will contain update kernels, so for the user it looks better if the kernel version is provided in any case. I know it's problematic to migrate -- but this was a fresh installation and not update and it should no problem to do it `right' in this case. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
