https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=274043 Summary: perl-Bootloader doesn't respect "--name" passed to it via update-bootloader Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: SuSE Linux 10.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: warthog19@eaglescrag.net QAContact: qa@suse.de update-bootloader has an option to pass a name to use as the title for an added kernel, however perl-Bootloader doesn't seem to actually respect the name passed. Means to verify problem: from --man: −−name string specify the name of the section to be added/removed The string from update-bootloader is passed up and thruogh to Bootloader::Tools specfically to the AddSection function, ($name) however $name never gets checked outside of the following line: return unless defined $name; And at some point through that function or in a subsequent function 'SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10' is used instead of what was passed through with --name. The following is a patch to /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/Bootloader/Tools.pm which corrects the problem. --- Tools.pm.orig 2007-05-01 12:34:44.000000000 -0700 +++ Tools.pm 2007-05-01 12:36:06.000000000 -0700 @@ -642,6 +642,8 @@ return unless defined $name; return unless exists $option{"type"}; + $option{"name"} = $name if defined $name; + my $default = delete $option{"default"} || 0; my $mp = $lib_ref->GetMountPoints (); -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
