https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=273952 Summary: YAST2 fails to add a network printer Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 3 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: lawrencecullen@comcast.net QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Installed on AMD 64 bit system. No other OS's present. Have tried using Yast2 to add Hardware - Printer. Used the following procedure: the "Next" button. At "Printer Type" I selected "Remote LPD Queue" I then supplied a Hostname of Print Server as 192.168.0.143 and entered a "Remote Queue Name" of "hplaserjet" and then clicked the "Next" button. At "Queue Name and Spooler Settings", for "Name for Printing" I entered "hplaserjet", for "Printer Description" I entered hp laserjet 2200d", for "Printer Location" I entered "larrys office" I chose not to "Share Printer" and chose to "Do Local Filtering" and then clicked the "Next" button. At "Printer Model" I selected "HP" as the "Manufacturer" and selected "LaserJet 2200" as the "Model" and then clicked the "Next" button. At "Configuration" I clicked the "Test" button and then clicked the "OK" button when the "Ready to print a sample page" dialog appeared. The sample page printed correctly. I then clicked "Printout Finished" and back at Configuration clicked the "OK" button. Now at the "Printer Configuration" window I noted that everything looked as it should after adding. The Queue Name was "hplaserjet", the Device was listed as "/192.168.0.143/phlaserjet", the Model was listed as "LaserJet 2200" and under Default it said "Default Queue". Further down in the window it listed as follows: HP LaserJet 2200/hplaserjet Not Shared Connected As lpd://192.168.0.143/hplaserjet With Spool hplaserjet At this point I clicked the "Finish" button. A "CUPS" dialog box flashes on the screen only briefly. If now I go back to the "Printer Configuration" window the printer that was added is no longer there. I have tried this multiple times with the same result. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
