https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=271768 ms@novell.com changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|REOPENED |RESOLVED Resolution| |WONTFIX ------- Comment #3 from ms@novell.com 2007-05-07 03:19 MST ------- Stefan points out that it could cause problems to run multiple X-Server instances and that you therefore should not run sax2 from a console as long as there is another X-Server running which could be used. That's the reason why I always ask people to call "init 3" before which causes the system to shout down any running instances... just to avoid problems not related to the bug report * Stefan never told you that sax doesn't require root privileges. If you run sax as user from your running session it will ask for the root password and starts up with root privileges. I'm sorry to say but the enhancement suggested here still makes no sense * If a user intentionally switches to a text console and runs sax there I assume that something is wrong with his current session otherwise a user wouldn't do that. Because of this sax starts its own server and up to that point there are two X-Servers running which could cause problems in X... but that's another problem and I would agree to all your arguments if you would say if X allows multiple instances why is it that broken if multiple instances are running. Ok this is really another issue completely unrelated to everything you had reported... forget it Well I don't think somebody made contradictory statements. On the other hand it is bad style to mark people as stupid just because they took care for a problem. You can be assured that offending people by making statements like the one above surely will not solve anything -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
