https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=271043 Summary: Brigthness buttons do not work Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Mobile Devices AssignedTo: behlert@novell.com ReportedBy: cddesjardins@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de I have a lenovo 3000 n100 which supports brightness adjustments. I can adjust brightness via root by the following ... modprobe video cd /proc/acpi/video/VGA/LCD echo X > /proc/acpi/video/VGA/LCD/brightness --where X is one of the levels However, I can not adjust brightness as a regular user. Also I am unable to adjust brightness by using the fn+F10 and fn+F11 keys or via kpowersave. KPowersave says that my hardware doesn't support brightness change which is in fact false as I'm able to adjust it via root and during BIOS. I should be able to adjust brightness with my fn keys (all other fn keys were detected properly), via kpowersave, and kcontrol. Additionally my screen doesn't dim when my laptop is unplugged.
