Maik, please post dmesg from install media to confirm. The offending error is the following one. Storage controller 0x808627c0 at 0000:00:1f.2, driver ata_piix loading ahci loading ata_piix FATAL: Error running install command for ata_piix This seems to be a problem in the live dvd's initrd. This one is easy to replicate. 1. Get a ICH6 or 7 based mainboard and SATA dvd rom 2. Configure BIOS such that SATA is configured as Standard IDE not ahci, IDE operates in Enhanced Mode only on SATA. 3. Boot with the install and live dvd. Install media succeeds while live one fails to load ata_piix for the sata port. The kernel isn't whining about anything. The module initialization might be failing inside the kernel silently or something is wrong with the initrd. Even if module loading is failing, I need errno to further diagnose the problem. I'm attaching the boot log of install, live media and the result of lspci -nn. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
