https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=254051 Summary: Why Xorg doesn't have the failsafe mode? Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: aceler@gmail.com QAContact: sndirsch@novell.com If something goes wrong with SaX2, the user will see black screen with the command line. User is not ready for this! Why Xorg does not have something like "Safe mode" with standard vga driver, or, better, "revert to last known good configuration" big button? It is not too hard to realize - just set up X scripts. For example, Red Hat starts redhat-config-video when Xorg fails. I can do some work, if you want to. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
