The vncserver command is only needed for manually starting standalone vnc
sessions. You don't need it for the vnc sessions that are started automatically
when you enable vnc remote administration and connect to the host from a vnc
viewer. But please post the verbatim error message you are getting from the
vncserver command, just in case you have found another bug there.

For the automatically started vnc sessions as described above, vnc shouldn't
ask for a password, because they come up with the system's graphical login
screen, so you can log in with your regular user name and password. If that's
not the case for you, please give more details of what happens when you connect
to the machine with a vnc viewer. Does vnc ask for the password, or do you get
the regular login screen, or does anything else happen?
