https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=247513 Summary: font path is wrong and will not change Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: franzferdinand2@blueyonder.co.uk QAContact: sndirsch@novell.com ok i was playing with realvnc and noticed although it installed it would not load because the font paths in X.org are some how incorrect. i tried changing the paths becasue they are like this: /usr/share/fonts/misc:unscaled,/usr/share/fonts/75dpi:unscaled and as far as i could tell from searching and asking other techie friends it should be like this: /usr/share/fonts/misc,/usr/share/fonts/75dpi, or this /usr/share/fonts/misc:/usr/share/fonts/75dpi: in its current state X is loading and then looking at it's default paths which are in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts and not /usr/share/fonts which is where they really are. I have resolved the issue locally by adding a symlink to /usr/X11R6/lib/ called X11 which goes to /usr/share/. a more permanent solution would be nice because afaik this has been around for a while but does not adversely effected most users. I did make AJ aware of it at the meeting this evening and as i have proved it's not difficult to fix from a release stand point. so can we get this done for 10.3 latest please? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
