https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=246961 Summary: New YAST module for real time settings and preemption. Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: simon.lewis@mnet-online.de QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Please, please please add a module to Yast for setting the real time performance and preemption, whereby any number of applications and/or users can be selected which should given priority. The yast module would then automatically enable/disable kernel (desktop?) preemption, modify the configuration files rtlimits, security, pam and what ever, and ask to installl any missing rpms that are needed for realtime (audio) performance. The manual configuration of openSUSE for real-time audio is a minefield and seldom a success.
