https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=245538 Summary: Enhance the description of "Data Journaling Mode" for ext3 Partitions in YaST2 Partitioner Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 1 Platform: All OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: ke@novell.com ReportedBy: lrupp@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com The current description in the YaST2 Partitioner tells only: "Data Journaling Mode: Specifies the journaling mode for file data. journal -- All data is committed into the journal prior to being written into the main file system. ordered -- All data is forced directly out to the main file system prior to its metadata being committed to the journal. writeback -- Data ordering is not preserved." I think especially the three possible modes should be enhanced by a "speed factor". The description in Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ext3#Advantages looks more like what I expect (even in the german wikipedia, that part sounds a bit more "logical" for endusers). So I suggest to rewrite that part to be a bit more userfriendly like in wikipedia. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
