The warning does not necessarily mean installation will fail, it is more
to tell the user about possible loss of data if raid is configured and used
via windows or any other OS supporting the BIOS raid setup.

My test machine has a PDC raid controller and of course it also displays
this warning. Installation onto plain disks and booting nevertheless works fine
on this machine.

My experience with BIOS raid controllers is that every type of these
controllers behaves subtly different and it is difficult to transfer experience
gained on one controller to other controllers.
