Summary: hplip-1.7.1-5: array subscript is above array bounds
Product: openSUSE 10.3
Version: unspecified
Platform: All
OS/Version: SuSE Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Other
AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: dcb314@xxxxxxxxxxx
QAContact: qa@xxxxxxx

I just tried to compile package hplip-1.7.1-5
with the GNU C compiler version 4.3 snapshot 20070202.

The compiler said

./fat.c:350: warning: array subscript is above array bounds

The source code is

for (i=0; pde->Name[i] && (pde->Name[i] != ' ') && (i<sizeof(pde->Name));
i++) /* copy charactors up to any space */

Clearly broken code. Suggest new code

for (i=0; (i<sizeof(pde->Name)) && pde->Name[i] && (pde->Name[i] != ' ');
i++)
/* copy charactors up to any space */
