https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=241380 Summary: System will not automount DVD Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: fredstevens@yahoo.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Installed suse10.2 final (7Jan07 download) from dvd burned on this drive while running suse 9.1. Yast shows the dvd as local repository. System will not auto mount dvd for use by KDE or Gnome. I can manually mount the dvd with "mount /dev/hdc /media/dvdrecorder". The dvdrecorder directory was not created by the system; I had to create it manually. "halmount /dev/hdc" returns "/dev/hdc not found". # lshal -m Start monitoring devicelist: ------------------------------------------------- (when I insert a data dvd I get this) storage_model_DVD_RW_IDE1108 property storage.removable.media_available = true "halmount --listudi" returns a list which does NOT include the dvd drive. However, if I do this: # lshal -s <snip> storage_model_DVD_RW_IDE1108 volume_part_1_size_3525214208 <snip> 10.2 sees the dvd drive AND the media in it but does NOT automatically mount the drive. /var/log/messages has no entries when inserting a dvd but has an entry when a cd is inserted. CD media work fine, it is only DVD media that won't automatically mount. This drive works fine with Suse 9.1, Fedora Core 6, Knoppix 5 live and WinXP. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
