https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=231687 ------- Comment #1 from Joseph.Comfort@asu.edu 2007-01-04 11:27 MST ------- (In reply to comment #0) I agree that there is something basically wrong with the implementation of patterns. I made a comment on the opensuse mailing list on Jan. 2 about a similar issue. User override of pattern selections (including removal) is requisite. Real functional dependencies can be detected, as is the case with groups. 10.0 had a much easier way of copying customized package selections between computers (or on system reinstalls): the import/export features of the package manager through an ascii file. It got lost in 10.1. There is a 'critical' bug (156593) that is still outstanding. An ascii file can be prepared with 'rpm -qa'. All that is needed is to read the file and add or remove check marks from the package lists (as one does with the mouse). It should not be so hard. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
